I heard a lot of people talking about how batteries of a laptop will degenerate over time.

How much degeneration should I expect over a year?

Should I take out the battery from the laptop and store it when I don't need it?

Also, is there overcharging when you leave a battery in the laptop forever? like the battery continuously gains charge. Can you make it so that the battery stops charging after it reaches 100%?

I think this article will answer your astute question and a lot more. From these articles it is good to remove the battery.

I will try to answer any question that is posted, but I like your question in particular. It asks what can I do to prevent a problem, rather than the usual, "Ihave a problem".

Continue good preventive maintenance, return here with any questions and you will get many years of trouble free service for your computer and the great OS that you have chosen.
