that's easily resolved with something like daemon-tools - and you should be able to find a mini-image for bf2 to mount.

LOL thanks Mickey i was just sitting here thinking there was a program at one time that let me make an ISO that PB wouldn't kick me for, and that's the name of it guess Im going to need a newer version to use on 7 now.

Been using a mini-image mounted in Alcohol for at least 3 years and never been kicked by PB (in fact use mini-images for any game that requires the CD).

Anyway you won't need the CD or a mini-image once you install the 1.5 patch as that is one of the things they removed, the CD check.

Also for anyone that doesn't have the game installed ATM and is thinking about installing because of the new patch, you will also need the 1.41 patch. The proper install order for a clean install is,

BF2
SF (if you have it)
1.41
1.5

AF and EF owners can now skip the BF2-SF-1.41-AF/EF-1.41, and just install as above. Not sure about what version the "Complete Collection" is, but if it is already at 1.41, then you just need 1.5.

i'm liking this patch, now that i've got used to the slightly altered gameplay.

and no more having to have the disc in the drive or daemon tools!

i did have one issue however, alt-tabbing in and out of the game gave me a black screen.

it was easy enough to fix though. :)

note - this fix is not the 'disable anti-aliasing' work-around, but a proper 'fix', and works fine on my x64.

Cool, I didn't know that.

But the new patch is rather good and there seems to be people actually playing the booster packs now which is great.

you're right quackpot.

have you ever played on any of the *Mine* servers? we have three, one for infantry with rules, one infantry no-rules, the other is a vehicle maps server. i'm an admin there, and we always welcome new players who play fair and follow the rules (unless they are playing on the no-rules server ;)).

my tag is *Mine*mickey_megabyte - hope to see you on the battlefield, trooper :D
