This sounds like an overheating issue to me. You should monitor your computer temperatures during gameplay. If you see extremely high temperatures (70C or higher) than you may have a cooling problem. If not, it's likely something to do with BF:BC2. I'd suggest that you check their forums as they'll likely have more knowledgeable advice to give.

I used to get the same white screen/lockup with game sound running in the background and the problem was caused by my overclocked 4890

I lowered the clocks and the white screens/lockups stopped

testing to find out what was causing the problem I overclocked my 4890 again and the white screen/lockup came back after only a few minutes of playing of BFBC2

ever since using default clocks on my 4890 I haven't had the white screen problem in BFBC2

According to your specs your CPU is though,

Intel® Core?2 Duo Desktop Processor E6750 - SLA9V

Set it back to default speed and see if that fixes it. If it does then it isn't quite stable at the OC'ed speed.

good point because I also had instability issues with games like the Call of Duty series, Company of Heroes and Source Engine games with an overclocked CPU

some games would work fine for hours and others would crash immediately

so I went back to default speeds and the instability issues ended

ok i'll try default speeds... also I got another problem.. I guess you'll suggest high video card temperatures but it can't be it.. http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/3130/20100513001.jpg this happens on couple different games.. settlers 7 and bfbc2 for example.. screen flashes like that from 5 to 10 seconds.

I had the same problem with my Windows 7 64 bit installation and Battlefield 2 where the game would cause the computer to freeze completely with a fast repeating buzzing sound. I had no problems at first with Windows 7 but then one day I enabled the US landscape theme and set it to automatically change the desktop background image every 5 or 10 minutes. This is when the freezing during game play started to occur.

The solution, I simply changed the them back to the default windows 7 aero them with the windows logo in the middle. Ever since, no more freezing. I played BF2 for an hour straight with no problems, where as before I couldn't last for more than 10 minutes before I had to hard reboot my system. It took me a while to figure this out so I hope this helps.

I doubt your issues stem from your overclocked cpu. That's a relatively good core, capable of really high clock speeds and you can already play for an hour... long past the time an iffy overclock would fail in such a high stress environment.

The artifacting, on the other hand, is an entirely different matter. Why do you say it "can't" be temperature? Download Hardware monitor, install it and run it, then fire up Bad Company. CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

Play until you can't (not a bad "job" eh? :)), then report back on your temps. It'll show you the min. max and current values for each piece of hardware in your rig. You really only need post the max values for you cpu and video card... although a screenshot would work too... just make sure you expand it so we can see the video card values.

Just from the picture you posted, it appears as though your card is just too hot... or dying. There's help if it's the former... not so much if it's the latter.
