Opening as elevated permission however it comes back saying
the requested system device could not be found.

I don't think its a permission error, more like it actually cannot find the device where the bcdstore is located in order to edit it or show it.

Please post a screenshot of your Disk Management (open start, and type Disk Management at the search box and press enter). Then we can guide you with some bcdedit commands to fix that.

Alternatively, you can probably fix the incorrect assignment by booting with your Installation DVD and going to "repair computer" and performing a Startup Repair.

Hope it helps.

EDIT: You can also try typing bcdedit /enum {current} and see what happens.
