Hello everyone,

The only time I could backup was with Ghost 15.
With Win7 built in tool I can't! I used a Toshiba External HDD USB 3.0 and now a Iomega one and allways the same message (please see jpeg).
My laptop is a Toshiba Tecra R840-16J running on Win7 professional 64bit.

Any advice?

Regards,
paulo

I googled this and seems like a common problem with windows 7 backup utility. Try these:

This can happen if your virus scanner (or another heavy disk activity application) is accessing the drive. You could try running chkdsk in safe mode:
Start your computer in safe mode

If you run chkdsk in safe mode and you're still having trouble backing up, try preforming a clean boot to disable any third party applications and then test backing up:

I once tried this myself and got an error so I just now use a program called "syncback" which is freeware and works great.

I'm not sure if it is vendor specific or if it's a Windows thing, but I had the same problem with my Seagate 3TB hard drive. The solution was to format it. I can't remember the reason why, but I think I can't use it with Windows XP. This happened sometime ago so my information could be incorrect, but after I reformatted my external drive, I was able to backup.

Thanks for the tips?
I use MSE now (But with N360 2 days ago the same happened).

Anyone else experimented this problem?

With Windows7 backup/imaging and on the high seas you never know what is going to happen. Use some OEM imaging program - anything is better than the Windows7 facility.
