Beeping Problem

Hi, I'm new here and I need help regarding my PC. I've been getting continuous long beeping sounds lately. It seems to happen everytime I press multiple keys in my keyboard at the same time, which of course is unavoidable when you're playing games. Now everytime it happens, my keyboard wouldn't work properly, or sometimes it wouldn't work at all. Unplugging the keyboard doesn't stop the beeping, but it goes back to normal everytime the beeping stops. And I also noticed that my speaker produces low rumbling sounds everytime it happens.

I hope somebody could shed some light regarding this problem. Thanks in advance.

P.S: I'm using a PS/2 keyboard.

Hello Lynyrd, Welcome to SevenForums!!

If you would post up your system specs so that we can continue troubleshooting your issue. Also when did these issues occur? After installing drivers or software? Or is this a new system you have built. Typically beeping sounds come from your motherboard when it senses problems.

Once you post up system specs and give us more information as to when this started happening maybe we can come up with something :)

- Tony

I'm not familiar with the PS/2 keyboard, but if you get a gaming keyboard the beeping should go away. Most new gaming keyboards have what is called 'Anti-Ghosting Technology'. Which is basically a fancy name for 'We got the beeping to go away'.

My recommendation is the Dell G15 Gaming Keyboard.

That's the connection type...not the brand/model.

You don't need an over-priced gaming keyboard to solve this.
My recommendation is the Dell G15 Gaming Keyboard.
You may be thinking of the Logitech G15 Keyboard. Would that work...probably, but even the $10 Dell USB keyboards would work as well.

Let me know if you need to know more. The long beeps started happening just very recently, I think it was just yesterday. Actually, it was beeping ever since I bought it, but it was only short beeps and it happens everytime I press some keys a little long while gaming. Also, this is quiet a new system, just bought it last month.

Beep Codes posed above are from the BIOS as the system is going through the POST routine. That isn't the issue the OP is having here. These beeps are from Windows, during a session in-game. I believe it is caused by StickyKeys, which is a feature built-in to Windows for this problem. It might be able to be disabled.

Its seems as if Deacon is correct it is sticky keys and should be able disable it in Control panel >> Sounds Good ol Microsoft for you. However upgrading your keyboard to a new one would also take care of it.

EDIT: Try typing Make the keyboard easier to use in start >> search once up check and see if sticky keys is enabled. You can also go to setup filter keys and select right shift is pressed for 8 seconds. But just leave sticky keys off. and Try that

I just looked it up and my StickyKeys has been turned off ever since, so I think it's not the problem.

Also I just wanna add that even when I'm not playing games the keyboard still has some problems. It goes off and then on again but without beeping, and my speaker produces short rumbling sounds simultaneously. Actually it just happened while I'm typing this. LOL.

This is the only keyboard I have. It doesn't beep at all when booting up. Actually the POST screen doesn't show at all, I only see a black screen then it goes straight to loading Windows 7. Either that or the boot process happens very fast.

Start Search bar type Change How Keyboard works. When this becomes visible click it.

New window as picture below. The two circled in yellow should be unchecked. If they are checked, uncheck them then click Apply bottom right.

I bought it together with the system unit so it's fairly new. I'm not really sure about the brand but it says "Across Technology".
