Belkin USB wireless adapter (K7SF5D7050 version 1xxx)

I recently replaced my old XP desktop to a desktop with window 7 and is trying to use my Belkin USB wireless adapter (K7SF5D7050 version 1xxx) with window 7. I was able to install the software/driver by using the compaibility mode. But, when I plug my USB adapter window 7 still say no driver is installed for this hardware. Can someone help? Thanks.

Hi mzee,

Judging from this page on Belkin's site, there are no drivers above Windows XP 32-bit for your model of wireless network adapter. I'm assuming when you installed the driver in compatibility mode, you used the driver listed here?

Are you sure you set it to the right Service Pack compatibility level?
Are you sure you're not running 64-bit Windows 7?
Have you tried using any of the 2xxx or above drivers?

theres a suprise, yet another belkin driver issue, i recommend downloading the drivers direct from Ralink (the chipset manufacturor):http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=1 (iv already done the grunt work of finding the right driver you want the USB Rt257X one)


then follow the guide posted here: http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/...ess-usb-adaptor-windows-7-a-2.html#post417027 on how to install them

edit: just remembered that post gives you slightly wrong info at the end, where it says select "USB N adapter" select USB b/g instead

try manually installing the driver from the devices and printers button on the start menu. I've been able to get other usb wireless and mobile broadband adapters that aren't updated yet for windows 7 to work by right clicking on the device, selecting properties, then setting windows to search for drivers in the folder created by installing the adapter software in compatibility mode

My current system is running 64 bits Window 7. I did tried several times with various service packs and the results were the same. When I did the installation I did it with the installation CD that came with the adapter. Thanks.

Belkin USB Wireless Adapter

Hate to tell you this but don't waste your time anymore. I have 2 of the same Belkin adapters sitting on a shelf in my closet. I tried off and on for several months, during beta and RTM to somehow get these things to work with 7. no luck, got some linksys's to use instead.

Thank you so much!!! I followed the steps you recommended and my Belkins is working like a charm with window 7!!! The step by step instructions was very easy to follow and I think Belkins customer support should recommend these instructions to their customers.

Can't find b/g USB option for Belkin driver?

I have the exact problem, but I can't seem to find the device name from the list. severedsolo, I can't seem to find the b/g USB option form the list - I'm at the Ralink Technology, Corp section (the one WITH the comma). mzee, could you help me out at tell me which one you chose? Thanks for the help, guys, I really appreciate it. =)

i have actually emailed belkin these instructions advising them to put them on their website, the result? a standard cut and paste reply and a ban from the support section

guess they dont like me making them look stupid :roflmao:
