Best "bang for buck" suggestion on syncing two Win7 laptops?

I have two Win7 laptops in my house, a Sony VAIO and an ASUS.

The VAIO was used until about six months ago, when a charger connector problem kept it from charging, rendering it temporarily useless. But it's now fixed.

The VAIO-owning daughter took over the ASUS at that point, but would like to return to the VAIO now that it's fixed.

With the tools at hand (primarily Drive Image and Hard Disk Backup Software and the Windows Easy Transfer tool), what's the easiest way to sync the VAIO up? That means bringing over all the files from the ASUS, and the tricky part might be integrating her Firefox profiles - there are probably some important cookies and passwords that exist on either computer but not both.

Part of my thinks that in terms of bang for the time buck I should find all files on the ASUS that were created in the past six months and just transfer them to the VAIO. Or just maybe bring the whole documents area from the ASUS to the VAIO, giving it a new name on the VAIO, and letting my daughter sort it out.

The windows easy transfer cable and the included windows easy transfer software is a very easy way to do this. Keep in mind while this will transfer all files and windows settings, this will not transfer programs.

The firefox profile can best be backed up by doing the following:
