Solved best free antivirus for older pcs?

I like panda security, but Im tired of the annoying popup that wants me to buy it. so i'm done with panda. should I try avast or AVG or something else?

With Panda Free I never get popups to buy it.
In Settings / General turn off Show Panda news.

I dont even see settings> general. im using version 2.3.0. I dont see a settings button anywhere.

I have Avast free on another system and I get a lot of popups, can't turn them off :(

I installed all the non sense add-ons that avast free wants and it doesn't show popups anymore unless there is a sale or a survey that you can answer. I like it any other than other AVs.
