Very small download, ~1.8 MB. Solid installer (no toolbars whatsoever), nice clean interface.

EDIT: Although I really don't know how effective it really is, since it runs in-windows (there's a reason CHKDSK runs prior to loading the OS). But overall very nice app.

On a dodgy drive there's nothing quite like Spinrite.

Most decent drive analysis software runs from a boot disk, therefore any of them will run independent of the actual operating system - so it makes no odds whether you run Linux, W7, or Windows 95...
