I had a Logitech controller for the longest time but I guess the 1000 times I dropped it caught up with it because its broken. I want one that's slightly like a PlayStation controller because I'm used to that. So that's why I thought of just of getting a Logitech dual pad controller again but a newer version. But anybody have any suggestions?
The Games For Windows initiative was meant to use the Xbox 360 wired controller as the default, most compatible controller. It requires no software, and many games are already configured to use it.
There are hacks and workaround for getting a PS3 controller to work but an Xbox 360 controller is just so much easier...Granted I just recently got myself a wired Xbox 360 controller for my PC <.< so maybe I'm biased? >.>

I agree with logiceart (not the biased part). An Xbox 360 controller is much more easier to install as it will automatically get the drivers from Windows Update in a matter of minutes, if not seconds. I myself wanted a PS3 controller since I plan to buy a PS3 in the future anyway. However, there is too much hassle to get it to work (more especially on a 64-bit OS) that the cost outweighs the benefits.
I usually like to meddle with things and with ease. Getting a PS3 controller to work was not one of them.
i used logitech rumblepad 2 wireless gamepad for about 3years last week it got borken so now after seeing suggestions by you guys i will go for xbox360 controller btw should i go for wireless or wired ? which one has good and long life ?

While wireless is great not having to worry about a cable. The wired one is cheaper and doesn't require you to also purchase an adapter. The wired one is plug and play. Nor have to worry about battery power.
