I'd go with a Nvidia card because the W7 API can use the card for a number of things to help performance besides gaming. :geek:

As for a card with some muscle I'd go with the EVGA GTX275 WTF Edition. :p

We need to remeber he's not in the US, so his choices are more limited. Thus the site or store you purchased your card from will come into play as far a what they have to offer you. As for bottlenecking an Intel core 2 duo 2.93Hz and 4 gigs of 1066 I wouldn't think so. Not to mention if a 4890 cost 412.00 U.S. dollars I can't imagaine what a 5870 would cost him in pounds.

i'm pretty sure that wasn't how much his card was... thats just his budget...... he should be able to find one for about 225 pounds
and yes about the limited choices.... but he should be able to find one

hi this is the only choice i have as to where i buy as they gave me £150 credit for my returned card here Cheap Laptops, Hard Drives, LCD Monitors, TVs, Televisions and more at Ebuyer.com

i have a total of £250 to spend so i am limited to this retailer,
from what i read ati seem to be best value cards over nvidea but i could be wrong
yea they are the best value.... well i looked.... sadly they have no 5870s :( but.... they do have 5770's and two of those on cf are about as fast as a 5870
and since your mobo supports cf..... (not sli) two of these would be good unless you'd rather wait a bit for a 5870 to come in stock or go with nividia (bleh )
