Kindly help. I have windows 8.1

These are my requirements.

1. i have some 720p mp4 files, which need trimming either at the start or end. for eg i have to cut the last 30s of a 5 min video. otherwise, i need the same quality for the cut video.

2. some 720p mp4 files have to be converted to 480p mp4 files.

3. some mp4 files have to be converted to mp3.

which software is best for these functions. thank you.

I HIGHLY recommend VideoPad Video editor. Within the software, when you export it, select 480p in the presets. Any more info? Just ask.

Hi,
Windows movie maker is pretty easy to use and part of windows essentials 2014 I believe is the recent version.

1. Avidemux is good for trimming start/end of mp4 movies. If you cut on an I-frame, it's a straightforward copy of video + audio with no loss of quality. Other cuts need a recode. Free -

2. Handbrake is good for mp4 file conversion. You can set pixel size, quality etc. Free -

3. For extracting audio from an mp4 movie I use Goldwave audio editor (not free). You can drag n drop a movie onto the Goldwave window and it extracts wav audio. Then you can save as mp3 (may need to install Lame mp3 encoder)
