Is there any software that can check automatically for driver updates? It'll have to check for everything including NVIDIA, Intel, Realtek etc. I don't mind if I have to pay for it as long as it isn't over a $100.

Thanks in advance,
Jaidyn

DriverMax - free driver updates

A Guy gave me the above about 8 weeks ago. Works great.

Free version gives you 2 downloads per day. Took me a couple of weeks to get everything but I was in no hurry.

They have a 30 day pay version that isn't too bad- $10.
Plus a 1 year and 2 year.

I had no problems.

A Guy told me he had no problems with it or he would not have recommended it to me.

Reliable so far.

As with any changes to your computer. Make a back up image to restore your system if needed.

I use Windows Backup Imaging and Macrium.

Same here. Can't remember if I got this from A Guy or The Howling Wolves but it works. And I also suggest a system image "just in case."

I would just get the driver manually from the manufacturers Websites. That way theres no chance of error.

Also, remember if you have the latest Nvidia driver, it will automatically check for updates from the official site on its own.
So should be no need there.

if you're still looking for an automated solution, have a look at SlimDrivers.

it's free and comes with no crapware attached - you do have to register to use it on your first driver download though. the registration process is quick and easy.

one thing to watch out for is that it auto-launches on windows startup by default - i think it does this to help with scheduling - this behaviour is easily disabled in the program's options.

it updated my network adapter driver, but it didn't update it to the latest version.

Imho driver updater software is a waste of time and money.I probably spent around $150 on driver software throughout the years.
More then likely they will install the wrong driver for the OS,install wrong driver in general,or install a outdated ones.
Your'e much beter off and safer going to the manufacturer's site for the driver needed.

You are beter off using cpu-id or pc wizard then those driver updater programs. They show all if not almost all drivers. It helps if you are not sure of the exact model of certain ones.
But some towers and laptops with vista and 7 have alot of trouble geting those programs to work. When I try pc wizard,it freezes at 63% when it reads the psu.Im not for sure, but they are x86 onley I think.Which is what im running though.

This is not XP. Using XP-era tools on Win7 is like using a wrench on a Lexus computer.

Windows 7 is nearly driver-complete with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates.

You only need to import drivers missing in the Device manager, or which present verifiable performance problems.

MS spent nearly a billion dollars subsidizing manufacturers to build Win7 drivers so they wouldnt hold out to force us to buy new hardware as they did in Vista. So they have them first in the installer, and via Updates.

Hello there!

To be honest I don't recommend auto driver update programs because lof the BSODs we analysis is caused by such programs which really don't check quality of the drivers which tend to screw up the computers. It's good to know if we have an update available but better to go the manufactures website to download them. This applies to the driver updates that comes through Windows update as well. Even if they are supposed to test the quality of the drivers etc. before reaching our system it tend to crash the drivers or give us an out-dated driver. I had a bad experience with Creative sound blast drivers when I first installed Windows 7 on desktop it end up in BSOD. Finally some third party driver developer made one driver what works. There might be lot that disagree with me. But this is just my opinion.

Hope this helps!

Update Drivers manually through Manufacturer's Site or through Windows Updates. Softwares will cause problems and the risk is high (Such as BSODs).

Hello!

Hi, i use the Driver Finder for my computer and it works. My experience with other programs wasn't that good, even the Windows Update couldn't find and update some of the drivers needed but Driver Finder did and it is really easy to use so here's a link for you to check it out: http://*******/1Rq5Z8U .
Please give me a feedback about your experience, and be sure to recommend to your friends too!

I hope i was helpfull.
