Don't expect miracles from those programs. On EVERY case, no matter what you do, Windows will invariably become slower and slower over time, up to the point another fresh install will be needed. That said, both TuneUp and CCleaner are nice options, but more for customization and cleaning some garbage than for any performance gains. In any case, use those with caution, take a restore point/backup before just in case.

Okay here is the bad news. All Tune Up Programs are nothing but snake oil and will do more damage than good. Many times once you use those programs you end up having to do a restore point or a clean install.
Windows 7 does not need or want such programs. Read this for your enjoyment.

Yeah. If you had paid a little bit more attention to the OP you'd noticed I put the link to that exact same tutorial :) And what about CCleaner?

CCleaner is good. It only cleans up Temp files & Internet history. In fact, the same thing can pretty much be accomplshied by deleting the contents of the TEMP folder, empty the recycle bin, and deleting all cookies and history from your browser.

My advice, use it as it makes things much simpler but leave the registry alone. Even CCleaners Reg cleaner.
You can delete some entries you know 100% sure are bad entries, but the problem is theres nothing to gained (in regards to performance) from cleaning the registry.
In a sense all you're doing is taking a potential risk, no matter how sure you are, for nothing in return. So why even take the slightest chance??

As for any other tuning, the best one is Win7 itself. Just let it do its thing.
Defrag on a regular basis, monthly or bi-weekly. Depending on how much is added, removed changed you may not need to that often even.
And thats about all you need to do.

Their is absolutely no need for a smart mouth post like this.
I read your post completely before and after the edit.
Yes we can see the edit and the time of the edit.
You are on a Forum that it's main goal is to help people with Windows 7 computer problems. Being polite will get you help more often than this kind of attitude. I will let this dog lie now. Hope you understand and adjust.

One last thing Pedro well two really the defrag my friend if you have a SSD don't use it.

Secondly I think perhaps a little humility would not go amiss as I think that any reasonable person would see they have perhaps been a tad hasty in reply as we all have on occasions, to admit their mistake and apologise for the hasty reply.

As has been mentioned we are all here to learn and get help and one day you may be able to return the favour.

As a matter of fact I used the smile to avoid what happened, and I edited the post just to put a cleaner link to the thread (the other one had some highlights and the code didn't go right). I also deleted a large chunk of the OP by mistake. I hope I can retribute the great help you provided (I did a good job reinstalling the OS just because of you ;)!)

Regarding the SSD, I don't have one, unfortunately. :(

Well Pedro I think you have been man enough to front up and explain and that goes a long way in here mate and and look I would be lying if I said I hadn't posted something that had already been mentioned - sometimes when one is dealing with a few issues and especially the longer threads it is so easy to post ground already covered.

Plus I know it can get very frustrating with issues that are so annoying and well we are all human eh:) and I think the Bear will be understanding he is always a very helpful and pleasant fellow.

I do hope you stay in the forum there isa lot to be learnt my friend.

A few other apps you will find very handy on your way are
