Hey everyone, I have a friend staying at my place while I go on vacation for a couple weeks, and he asked to use my pc to play guildwars, while im gone. Thats fine with me, but i would like to be able to let him have his own login to play. What is the best way to go about this, so that he can not only have his own account, but still be able to install the software, and play, etc....

thank you for your help!

Install guild wars for him with your account then make him a user account where he can play it. I'm assuming he's only going to install guild wars correct?

Guild Wars, or Guild Wars 2?

Just download and install the client, then have him use his account information to log in. If you already have it installed on your computer, then he can just log into his account when he runs it.

The game is installed on the computer, and the "game saves" (if you will) are stored on their servers and made available when you log into the account.

Agree with MIGU31

But in case we missed your question, check this tutorial - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/181024-user-account-create.html

The only sticking point is if the game will require Administrative privileges for certain features, saves for example. I know I had an issue where I tried to set up a user account so my daughter could play the Sims (the first one). For some odd reason the game required Admin rights to correctly function. This was some years back under XP, but there are some games that do require full admin rights so...

Anyway unless you REALLY trust your friend, I'm not sure you want to give him/her full admin rights. That said, I suggest you set this up early and have him/her test it out before you leave for vacation.

Depending on your answer to Wrend's question the above may be a non issue.

My two cents.

Thank you all for the replies. I do trust him with admin rights. I guess it was more of a i don't want him going through my personal files. All my work is there. I don't have guild wars, so I just created a separate log in and gave him admin priveleges. I installed planetside 2 to test it out. As long as he has admin rights all should be good for him right?

Should be able to install what ever he wants like your account would. As long as you trust him I would have no problem with having admin rights on "your" pc.
