Beta 7 - How to add EAP FAST?

I'm using an Acer laptop with an Atheros 5007EG wireless card.

Under Vista I had to follow the directions at eapteam's WebLog : How do I install CISCO EAP-FAST on my computer? to get EAP FAST to install, as the included/available drivers didn't install it.

Under Vista it installs fine and now gives me the option of using EAP FAST for wireless connections.

Under Win7 Beta (x32) it looks like it installs fine using the same instructions, but it doesn't give me the option of EAP FAST to connect to a wireless network.

Has anyone found another way to make it work?

I don't mind having to use a wired connection while at my desk, but elsewhere in the building wired is not always an option!

Thanks!

I am having the same issue with my Lenovo and the Intel Pro-Set Wireless, ran through same article, update is installed but still no option to select EAP-Fast

(bump)

This has received no attention and it's the only relevant google search result on the topic! Does anyone have an ear to the ground at MSFT that could find out if there are any plans to support EAP-Fast soon? I'm using a Dell laptop with the same issues.

I actually contacted the poster of the method to add EAP-FAST to Vista and have receive NO response.

This is VERY frustrating - but - I don't need to be frustrated anymore since I was laid off from the company using EAP-FAST on Thursday

Windows 7 RC

Having the same issue on the RC1 with an intel pro 2200bg.

Have followed the steps in the vista blog and it registers the node in the device manager but the final step where you tell it to download the drivers automatically says that the drivers are already the most up to date and then the user interface still does not provide any options for eap-fast.

Welp, at this point I've gone to RTM and still can't find anything on how to add EAP-FAST to Win7... Same issues now on both of my Dell Laptops (Studio 1735 and Inspiron 1440)... I can install the EAP Fast module all day long but it's not available in the drop-down...

Are you still trying to get this to work on the Acer, or just the Dell computers now?

Just on the dell machines now. The Studio 1735 has a Dell branded Wifi card in it, the Inspiron 1440 has an Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN in it.

Both machines are running Win7 Home Premium x64.

1440 worked fine on EAP FAST with Vista 64 Home Premium and the 1735 worked fine with Vista 64 Ultimate .

For the Inspiron 1440 laptop yes they do, for the Studio 1735 no, so I've tried using both the Windows 7 included driver as well as the Vista 64 Dell driver - no success.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I posted the link to that same article in my original post. It has done nothing for me, BUT, just for S's and grins, I'll go ahead and do it again. :-)

For the Intel wifi enabled laptop, did you download the Intel ProSet tools? I came across a thread where someone had luck enabling LEAP after he installed the ProSet tools. I know EAP-FAST is the replacement for LEAP, but perhaps the steps may help.

WOW - Don't I feel like a flipping dumb-a !

It worked this time around... What was different about this time? I have NO CLUE.

Guess I'll try it a few more times at home on the Studio 1735 when I am off tonight.
