Solved Better Nvidia Graphics card

Hi,

I read on another forum site that a Nvidia Geforce GT630 with 1GB dedicated memory is better than a Nvidia Geforce GT620 with 2GB dedicated memory. Is this true, surely more memory would be a bigger advantage than the slight speed difference between models?

Usually higher models would perform better than their predecessors but there can be positives and negatives with both.

For example:
ZOTAC GeForce GT 620 2GB DDR3
Clock rate - 700 MHz
Shader Clock - 1400 MHz
Memory Clock - 1066 MHz
Memory Size - 2GB
Memory Interface - 64-bit
Memory Type - DDR3

ZOTAC GeForce GT 630 1GB DDR3
Core clock - 810 MHz
Shader Clock - 1620 MHz
Memory Clock - 1333 MHz
Memory Size - 1GB
Memory Interface - 128-bit
Memory Type - DDR3

1. 630 has higher Clock speeds
2. 630 has bigger Memory Interface
3. Size of memory won't have much impact unless you're using a high resolution or multiple monitors

No I won't be using anything higher than 1600x900, and definatley no more than one monitors. Why did you call the cards 'Zotac'?

Zotac is just one brand of that GPU like EVGA, MSI, Gigabyte, etc are. Was just an example. You can compare the stats of the brand you prefer using the same method I used.

2GB memory in entry level cards is scam. nothing more. usually you need more memory when you use HD textures with high resolution display.. but entry level economy graphics card can not run those HD textures at high resolution with good enough frame rate anyway.. so there is no point. gpu will bottleneck.
you need at least mid range gpu to use 2GB video memory efficiently.
