It's an issue with some ATI cards. Won't be anything wrong with your computer, just need to see if a patch will be released to fix it within the game, or a driver from ATI to fix it.

Fixed for the 5xxx series of cards,

ATICatalyst10.4Preview

ATI Catalyst 10.4 Preview features:
The ATI Catalyst 10.4 Preview provides resolution for the following issue:

  • Long load times for new maps in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 when using an ATI Radeon HD 5xxx series graphics card

and from what I have seen elsewhere supposed to be fixed for the 4xxx series next week.

like stormy13 posted it should be fixed by a "preview driver" released sometime next week...keep an eye on a site like rage3d because they will have current AMD/ATI news along with download links

with the release of the fix for long load times for 4xxx series cards and a new BFBC2 client & server patch sometime next week it is shaping up to be a good week for BFBC2 players :)
