Big problem with Windows 7 64-bit drivers

I recently purchased a new desktop with Windows 7 64-bit installed. Every since, I am having problems with just about everything I try to plug into it. The keyboard works, the mouse that came with it works (but two others do not), a network adapter works after finding drivers online. However, my printer doesn't work, various plug-and-play usb devices that don't require drivers don't work (the two mice mentioned above, a flash drive, and a usb hub). It's pretty frustrating that I have to hunt everywhere for drivers for every little device, particularly when it turns out much of this stuff isn't supposed to need drivers.

Did I get a defective copy of Windows 7? Is it missing the driver package or something?

Use the guide in my sig to update your drivers, and also right click the hardware in device manager and choose update. Look online or choose from the built in drivers if you can find them.

Most generic drivers will work for all USB functions and the above quote has been what most people I've seen experience. A few crappy drivers.... But mice? Most mice are universal, in fact the bios has settings to detect mice better.
