Hello,
I have the odd requirement of needing to bind a gamepad key to a keyboard. I have an Xbox controller for PC. hen I hit "F2" on my keyboard I need it to simulate hitting "back" on the Xbox controller.

Thanks for any help :)

Download GlovePIE, you should be able to get something working there, as you can have it associate one device's input with another device's output.

I used it to play Dead Space because the set up sucked, heh.

Thanks, but I can't seem to get that program to detect the 360 gamepad. It detected yours?

I've never used an XBox controller on my computer, and have wireless ones anyways.

Did you try "C-P Settings" at the top, then "Joystick" from the drop down menu? Then the "GUI" tab then "Detect Output to Emulate" and pressed "Select" on the controller, then clicked on "Detect Input" and press F2 on the keyboard? Then click "Run" at the top and play whatever game you want, ensuring F2 is set as whatever you want it to be bound to in said game.

Try this forum and this document. It's focused on the XBox controller, but the rest of it may be useful to find out how to get it to work if I was of no help.

Thanks a lot for the link. Forums are quite dead however. I've got it working now (through coding, still won't detect through GUI) in that the program picks up the Xbox controller inputs. I can map it so when I press something on the Xbox controller it translates into a keyboard input. However I cannot get the opposite to work and I'm quite confident the coding is fine.

Is there a way to create macros with GLOVEpie? Since it can detect the joystick inputs that might be the best choice here. I looked through there documentation but didn't find much.
