Bios beeps?

I'm getting PC speaker beeps from one of my computers latley...
they seem different everytime it boots..
It gets passed the bios, it beeps when windows is loading..
so is this a bios code or something else?
It's on a Ma785gm-us2h motherboard.

the latest are,

from this last one of,
1 long /pause/ 1 long

1 long 2 short /pause/ 1 short 1 long 1 short / pause/ 1 long 1 short ..

to many others.. I could reboot and get yet a different one.

I've tried removing all the hardware, and it wont beep.
I've put memory in, memory out, there is no video card, just the onboard.

I can run any test on it and it passes, prime95, occt, intelburnin, etc,etc.
I've even folded on it for weeks on end, no problems.

It is very unusual to get BIOS beep codes after the BOOT has completed and the OS has begun to load. Are you sure the beeps occur while Windows is loading?

Some people turn off the setting in BIOS that lets you see the BIOS screens as it goes through it's routine, so it may seem like it happens during OS load, but it actually is not. If it is beeping while you can see the coalescing squares, or after that, then it is certain.

If it beeps during the BIOS BOOT routine then you have a hardware issue. You can get clues as to what the issue is using the BEEP CODES for your brand of BIOS (Award, ATI) as Golden suggested.

Since you already checked the hardware (you should strip the board down to just the CPU then add the components back one at a time and reboot) you can also correct a BIOS error by either "Resetting the Bios Defaults", or if that doesn't work, by "Clearing the CMOS". Those will reset the BIOS to normal settings, in case any overclock or system change has corrupted the BIOS.

Also, test by booting with no USB devices connected and then add those back one at a time. If you are using a wireless keyboard or mouse, try hooking up a wired set.

While strange, if the motherboard is beeping while the OS is loading then it would probably have something to do with drivers. Specifically, drivers are making system changes the BIOS does not like. And my first suspect would be the graphics driver, since you have on-board video.

Does it do this if you boot into Safe Mode?
(Also, if it beeps before you can get to the Boot Menu to select Safe Mode then you will know it is beeping during the BIOS BOOT routine).

Random beeps can occur is the keyboard is damaged/spilled with a liquid and makes short circuits inside of it. I suggest replacing it and testing .

OK yes it does pass DMI and everything else I would consider the BIOS part of the boot.

Once windows starts loading i get the beeps,
When i see the windows logo pop up the beeps start in, alos does it on safe mode.
Heres what i am look at right now,
The boot loader counting down and no beeps, gets to 0 and ..
windows logo pops up and beeps start.

The biggest problem I am having wether it's bios codes or not, they are always different beeps.
The award bios above mentions all other beeps are memory.. which it seems it's not as it tested fine in another system.
If it's a ram slot, I still dont understand why it beeps when it does and not before.
It's driving me nuts.
Tech support isnt that helpful, test the memory they say,, I have it's fine under software tests on both this system and another system.

I'd hate to RMA this board only to get another back that is doing the same thing.

Have you tried Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

Through experience I have found that windows based memory testers may not always find a problem. If that’s the case then memtest86 is your answer. Be patient…this thing takes forever. But it works!

I wouldn’t write off Rhapsody’s comment about a faulty keyboard either. Try another keyboard if you have one.

Testing the memory on another system isn't enough prove that it is 100% ok. A memory could give error on one motherboard and not on the other. Sometimes there are compatibility issues with memory but rarely. Try cleaning the slots if they have dust on them. I've had once a program which could send signals to the motherboard speaker so it is possible for a virus to do this . You can also check Event Viewer in the System tab especially are there registered some errors just at the time it beeps. Right mouse button on my computer - manage - event viewer on the right and system tab .
Memtester 86 is really great. Be sure to use a final version like 4.15b if testing. Hiren's boot cd contains it .

Re-installed Windows, beeps are gone.

future reference, strange beeps are windows loading screen logo are not bios beeps.
