Solved Bios screen freezes on startup

My computer recently hasn't been able to boot past the bios screen and i can't enter the bios either.
The problem first started when i disconnected my psu to see if my other pc which had a dead psu would power up with this psu. Though i found out i needed a micro atx connector instead of atx on my other pc. So I installed my psu back into my original machine just to find out i got no display. So i removed my ram then booted her up again and got some beeps. So then i shut it off and put my ram sticks back in. The screen would show now but now i can't get past the bios screen or enter the bios setup. I googled around a bit and saw that taking out my cmos battery then replacing it with a new one could fix this issue. So I replaced the cmos battery with one of the same voltage and version which is a 2032. Well sadly the problem persisted anyways with the same results. So I googled some more and read that reseting the jumpers could possibly resolve the problem. I continued by reseting the jumpers like it said to but still no results still the same exact the problem. Now i'm here braking my head over this since I can't figure out the problem and i'm cluess to what the problem could be. My hunch is ethier i got a bad psu or bad mobo but the mobo gets power and shows it gets power by the bulb on the mobo and it starting up but suddenly freezing. I tried with a ps/2 keyboard since the usb keyboard would get no signal, so the ps/2 keyboard got power but I can't enter bios no matter how much I try. Anyways what i'm trying to say is if you guys could help me trouble shoot this problem because it's a total nightmare. Would appreciate all the help i can get, my last resort would be taking it to a shop to get it fixed but I want to see if I can resolve this problem. Some things to try:
*Power off, pull out power cable and the CMOS battery for 5 minutes, or short across the battery contacts.

*Try with only one RAM stick in.

*Disconnect all drives except the OS, all USB devices except keyboard, mouse.
EDIT: In fact disconnect the kybrd and mouse too since we are testing to see if you can get past BIOS.

Check all PSU connectors too since you've been moving them around.

Are you sure that the power for the cpu is plugged in all the way . Other than that - check the cable to see if they are inserted all the way ..

Will give it a go tomorrow since its late. Will reatempt resetting the CMOS battery with your method britton. Thnx for the reply and yes I checked my wires and they seem to be connected properly since everything powers on but will double check. Appreciate any help and advice given.will inform how the problem goes.

If the other suggestions don't help then power down to unplug the HD data cable. Will BIOS post now? Try booting a bootable DVD or CD. Will it boot?

If BIOS POST is stalled due to HD being connected then it is either a bad HD or bad code in the boot sector. Try slaving it in another machine to see if the data is intact and copy it out, wipe the HD of code in the boot sector with Diskpart Clean Command.

Now place the HD back in problem machine. Will it POST? If so boot the 7 installer to Clean Install Windows 7 or reimage from saved System image backup.

reseting the cmos did nothing and brought the same results. Removing the hdd from the sata plug didn't do anything etheir and nethier did puting a bootable cd in the dvd drive, it just won't respond. Thnx for the help though idk what else do, im starting to think like the bios are corrupted or there is somthing wrong with the mobo

This could give you a starting point / hint.

I get one single beep on boot then the bios screen comes up then doesn't boot to the hdd and doesn't let me enter the bios as if it were frozen. I'll take a look at my mobos website for beep codes on asus.

Shooting from the hip, one beep means a good POST, from there your hosed.

Not all mobos produce a beep upon success. Personally, I wish they did.

I believe what you mean is the POST screen which is either a logo splash screen or a listing of your drives and RAM etc. BIOS is where you can change settings for your board. Can you try pressing DEL, F1, F11, or what ever key, when the POST screen is on to enter BIOS?

Also please let us know all the steps you have tried from this discussion.

can't boot from hdd,can't boot from my win 7 dvd and cant boot into bios with the hdd removed and no cd inserted. I just revive a single beep then it stays on my green asus bios screens and the keyboard shows that it's getting power but the pc doesn't respond so i can't enter the bios or try geting into the boot selection by pressing f8 won't show up anymore like it use to before i got this problem. I tried seeing if it would work with my old IDE hdd instead of my sata drive but the same thing occurs with it just freezing at the bios welcome screen showing options like press delete to enter bios setup.

EDIT:So far I've tried resting the cmos battery, no dice. Resting the jumpers, nothing there etheir. Removing the sata hdd and dvd drive. Still no progress and trying with one ram on both slots and removing both rams to see if it would beep and it does. Then i tried removing the video card and using the on-board video which works but still the same issue. and pressing delete wont boot me into bios

Just a bit of info on a problem I had in the fall.
I took in a PC from a friend at work that I was going to try to get working and salvage it. It would post, but that's it. It sat on the post screen and there was nothing else.
Keyboard showed that it had power, but it wouldn't follow any commands at all. Got a motherboard/cpu/ram combo. Using the original power supply and a new HDD, it worked just fine.
Sidenote: even though the keyboard showed power, I couldn't enter the bios, as if the USB controllers were toast (tried in all 6 usb ports, didn't bother trying to find a ps/2 keyboard.) Power Supply was fine also.

If the motherboard is producing beeps from the speaker, almost certainly one of the following is true:

• The memory is not seen, incompatible with the board, running too fast, etc. - LONG BEEPS THAT REPEAT FOREVER. In this situation, try another DIMM if possible, lower the bus speed to see if the memory works, try the DIMM in a different memory socket.
• The video card is not in all the way - particularly common with AGP cards - or the video card has a compatibility problem LONG BEEP FOLLOWED BY SOME SHORT BEEPS. Make sure the video card is in ALL THE WAY, try a different video card if possible to check for a compatibility proble

Okay.
Let me ask this...If the first 512KB on the HDD is considered the master, would that indicate a HDD problem?
