BIOS settings when install OS

I "think" if I am using a disaster recovery CD, I have to have BIOS set to boot from CD first. Is that right? But what about if I'm using a Windows 7 OEM disk to do a clean install on a computer that presently has Vista?

You should ALWAYS have your BIOS set to the CD/DVD as the first boot and your Hard Drive with you OS as the second boot. No Exceptions.

That is great advice, but once you know what you`re doing in the bios, you can set your ssd/hard drive back to #1 in the boot order and from then on just use the Boot Menu to choose your dvd drive in the future.

Once you learn your Bios and how to bring up your boot menu, it`s all down hill :)
