Hello nikom, welcome to Seven Forums!

The first thing I would suggest after you have copied out or made back-ups of the data you need to save to external media you use Step One of this tutorial at the link below to do a wipe (secure erase) to the entire Hard Disk Drive, running this then using the outline in Step Two #2 to create and format a single 100GB partition using diskpart will get you a clean all and a chkdsk /r for the best possible space to install Windows 7 to.
   Information

After you have made backups of everything you care to save and you want to do a real wipe "clean all" to the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) have a look at this tutorial at the link below, it over-writes everything, all the old Windows code including all the old Windows drivers, giving you the best possible space to install Windows 7 to; it goes hand-in-hand with a clean install.

Hi gregrocker, theog, Bare Foot Kid, stormy13

Thanks for reply and yours time. Before i do all of your info, what shall i configure in BIOS for wd6402 640gb sata3 64mb cache 7200rpm harddrive. Is it Set up in IDE or AHCI. Which ones is better and faster.

Right then, Will be back later on

I would try AHCI first, then IDE if install fails - as well as the other steps given.

You can wait for BIOS update until Win7 is installed unless it fails after all the other steps given.

Just be advised there is the possibility that if anything goes wrong with the BIOS flash, like a mains power interruption during the process the motherboard will be ruined; if there is no specific reason to do so, I would not flash the BIOS at all.

Why do you feel the BIOS needs an update?

Get to know what your present bios version is and whether it covers the processor you are gonna use. Read the release notes for your existing bios and the latest bios version from the manufacturer's website. Defer any bios updates unless there is a compelling reason. Any mishap while flashing the bios will shake your confidence.

For the same reason, I shall also advise against AHCI. ( I had only experienced problems when I had tried it on a new machine recently ) IMO, You don't lose much going with the established IDE.

So get going with Windows installtion. After a while when you have gained enough confidence, you can think of bios upgrade and AHCI etc., (Though it is recommended that you should select AHCI before installing Windows, give it a pass for now. There are ways and means of activating AHCI even afterwards, as you come to grips with your computer prowess.)

In short, try to walk first before you run.:)

Today i bought a new harddrive: sata3 western digital wd6401aals 640gb 32mb cache 3gb/s to replace sata 640gb 64mb cache 6gb/s. My motherboard / southbridge is only support 3gb/s sata. BIOS can see sony drive and wd6401aals. I waited for 1 hour and it nothing change.

Tomorrow i'll buy a new Sata Optical drive, well we'll see if it going to work. And also i might buy Asus P8P67 motherboard

Is there any info guys it'll be appreciate

You read the manual for your board yet? If not pull it out and look up the Asus EZ Flash 2; no OS needing to be installed, no need for a floppy drive/disk, all you need is a USB stick. If you don't have the manual you can find it here,

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards - ASUS P5K Deluxe/WiFi-AP
+1 stormy13: This is by far the easiest way to update your bios all you need to do is forat the usb stick and put the.bin file on it then go into your bios under EZFlash 2 and slect the USB stick and flash your bios.
Remeber to remove the USB stick upon restrart. I have used this everytime I have uypdated my ASUS board.

I am almost sure that your Windows 7 was perpectly installed when " windows loading and stop where they are 4 colour red, green, blue, yellow circleling aorund, that was it and then the screen went to sleep (black)" .

If it was perpectly installed, why the screen went to black forever?

I experienced the same problem 2 years ago when I installed 1 or 2 beta versions of Windows 7.

It might be the Nvidia Driver of your 6600gt fits not Windows 7 !!!

1. Download any Nvidia Driver newly released and save it, perhaps you would be
interested in this topic "Nvidia, Digital Vibrance and Image Sharpening",
2. Restart your PC and go to the Safe Mode,
3. Install the downloaded Nvidia Driver,
4. God bless my advice:D, and hope it works....

And, after restart the pc and go to the Safe Mode,

I believe, and I hope, both of us has undergone the same problem and would work it out the same way.

Good luck to you.

Hi thefabe, Thanks for reply. Is that my old bios motherboard causing the install wins7 problem ?

If you had a bad bios flash you wouldn't even be able to start your system. if this is the case you can buy a pre-loaded bios chip with whichever bios you want on it from the biosman.

I've used him lots of times when I used to purchase boards that people had bricked their system due to a bad bios flash. I would just purchase another chip and whala the board would work.
:: BIOSMAN Inc :: Consumer Electronics Show : 2009 : CES

The bios is a the motherboards"Basic Input Output System" it's the operating system for the motherboard. So if it's bad your board won't even start or go through the screens that flash by real quick testing all your hard drives, optical, keyboard, mouse, graphics ect.

Eric, not necessarily. His board also has this,

CrashFree BIOS 3
Simply restore corrupted BIOS data from USB flash disk
The ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 allows users to restore corrupted BIOS data from a USB flash disk containing the BIOS file. This utility saves users the cost and hassle of buying a replacement BIOS chip.

One can do the same thing manually. Just copy/paste the original bios file and the flashing utility to a bootable thumb drive, then boot from the thumb and run the flasher.

Crashfree Bios probably packages all that stuff (bios file, flasher, boot files) together so its more convenient. Like the phoenix crisis recovery.

Hi peoples, Thanks for info.

Today bought a new LG optical sata drive to replace sony ide drive. Installed it, checked bios for LG drive - ok. Restarted pc and inserted Wins7 dvd disk on new drive. Wins7 loading........ and stop again on 4 colour red, green, blue, yellow and sleep with black screen. Waited 30 mnts. Ahhh....! that was it. I'll take it back to pcworld for refund.

Tomorrow i have to find the manual p5k deluxe + support dvd disk or buy usb flash memory and use it for recovery corrupted bios

Until now see you then...

Yesterday i downloaded bios v.0902 p5k deluxe from asus.com and also downloaded nvidia 6600gt latest driver. Saved it in usb memory stick then installed onto pc. Insert the usb stick to usb port, insert win7 disk to drive and turn on pc. While booting i press space bar, in second the screen showing in Safemode window. I press Enter in Safemode only, suddenly Win7 start install from beginning untill finish. Whoala...! What a surprised:shock:. I hadnot installed the bios v.0902 and 6600 driver yet.

So i Thank :) you to : stormy13, thefabe, woolswell, bare foot kid, gregrocker, theog, bill2, ponmayilal for ur info and sparetimes.

*But 1 prob is i can't use Creative Sound Blaster Xfi Fatality card because it is not compatible with Win7. I did download the win7 32 bit driver from creative.com but win7 is still refuse to install it

I need this Xfi Fatality ( THX Superb sound ) for listening music, dab radio and movies. Any solutions ?

Cheers
