I can't say without seeing the release notes on the bios update, Generally they will only fix one problem at a time. Often it's compatibility for hardware that you may not even have. Meaning you will be unaffected by the update at all.

Yeah I have never applied a bios update unless I knew specifically it affected my system config in some way.
I owned this motherboard for nearly 3 years before I updated the bios on it. I was forced to do so to ensure compatibility with my newer 5850 graphics card though. Despite following the procedure to the letter over the years I have bricked probably 5 or 6 motherboards while doing bios updates. Considering the enormous number of them I have done in total, it's not a huge percentage, but enough for me to be nervous about doing it. Especially on higher end machines where the loss is more significant.

I *almost* never do a BIOS update...at least by flashing. The only time that I did do a flash, I had a shop do it for me. On a couple of others, I bought new BIOS chips instead, but I couldn't do that with my current motherboard, because the chip isn't socketed. If they do release a new BIOS for it, that I need, it may be the first one for me to flash.

i have noticed a differnce in my bios itself, i have selctions to change the cpu Ghz and voltages along with the ram speed and whatnot, im not touchin them as i dont have a clue on overclocking although i did put my cpu back to 2.2GHz as ntune buggerd it into running just 2.0GHz so a bit of a win there :), i have noticed my graphics card works about 1-2% better before i was hitting 5.1 on gaming grahics now it hits 5.2 so a little better there :S gotta love Radeon HD 5450 Cards :P so much better than the intergrated shared memory nvidia one :P although thats obvious ha PCI-E beats intergrated everytime for gamers (Y)
