Solved Bit Torrent(s) versus Comcast

All attempts to torrent download are stalled with: Connecting to Peers 0%. I currently employ the μTorrent client to service downloads. Any attempt to initiate a torrent download via μTorrent is stalled; μTorrent responds with: "Connecting to Peers 0%" (permanently).

Is Comcast doing something under the covers to cause this situation/condition? Could Norton Internet Security be having an ill-effect (Firewall)?

Thanks in advance,
Lairbear (Randy Reist)

Torrent programs are junk and mostly used for illegal activities. Most ISP throttle them as they should.

Your awesome for reading this.
It depends on a number of factors, some of them you can control directly. To begin with, try to run the connectivity test inside uTorrent (by clicking on the small yellow or green icon on the bottom right of its window). Your ISP might be throttling you too.
About the firewall, it's another point that may cause issues, since torrents are often difficult to configure behind firewalls and routers. Make sure that uTorrent has unlimited incoming/outgoing connection permissions and check that you've forwarded the port on the router.

My μTorrent level is: 3.4.1 (Build 31139) 32-bit. Is there any reason for concern with the 32-bit version running on my i7 64-bit CPU(s)?

I must ask that you provide more detail about the μTorrent window's lower-right icon(s)- I see three icons presented: Facebook, Twitter, and μTorrent Android Client- no other???

Thanks,
Randy

32 or 64 bits should not matter. Furthermore, development of x64 version for Windows has stopped and is abandoned right now, so x86 is the way to go. I use it all the time and gives me no problem.

The icon is this one:
uTorrent.png

Click it to make the connectivity test. Sometimes it will be a yellow mark if it detects a problem or sometimes it will be nothing there, but click on that spot anyway. It'll check your port forwarding and speed.

One more thing, are the torrents you're trying to get seeded?
