Hello,

I have no idea why but one day I decided to launch black ops 2 and it is not working. I've tried verifying game cache, reinstalled twice, changing gpu driver, no luck.

I switched over to intel hd graphics 4400 and it works fine, but the frames are so much lower (obviously).

I've researched this issue but can't seem to find out the right method.

Any help I would greatly appreciate, thank you!

(Also yes I know the gtx 460 is old but it suits my needs.)

This is what I would do... YMMV

Not from Windows update... go to Mfr for audio and video (nvidia geforce experience) and download latest drivers, save to a temp folder.

uninstall both video and audio driver from device manager and restart, get into safe mode an run CCleanerto clean temp files and registry (download if not already installed), restart wait fir win7 to install generic drivers.

Go to temp folder, right click and Run as Admin for both audio & video exe files. when doing video drivers make sure to tick option to do a clean install, do custom install and untick any 3D and audio options. restart again and try the game.

If that does not work i would save my savedgames and uninstall/install the game again... good luck

make sure you are playing at native res both for monitor and in game. Use optimal settings in game and change res if not at native

It's not working and I pretty much give up

I'm just going to reinstall windows for the 10th time(did it 9 other times because of other stuff) . I'll get back to you to even see if that works, haha.

Well good luck but I was going to suggest you get into the Bios to see if your GTX is the primary card or if the onboard to disable/enable it.

Even if you do a clean install, when you are done, make sure that the GTX is the primary and while you are at it... make sure you seat the card correctly or take it out and push it back in for good measure.

Thank you it is now set as the primary and I have done a clean install. It now works like a charm.
