Solved Black or Grey Theme

Hi guys,

is there anyway that I can get a black or grey theme for Windows 7 and all the programs that I run within it? I know that you can change window colour in the Personalization settings (high contrast black I think it's called) but this gives everything a black background too, which I don't want. For example, Firefox would have white text on a black background - I want the usual white background, with black text and to have black or grey windows.

Anyway that I can do this?

It is very hard to achieve what you are trying to do with a dark theme.
Programs like Firefox you could use a custom theme separate from the Windows theme you probably get the white window and the black text but other programs use Windows themes so if you have a dark theme you have a dark program.
The best place to look for themes is deviantART: where ART meets application! My personal favorite dark theme is charleston2378's deviantART gallery
You will need to do 1 of these 2 ways of Enabling custom themes for it to work.

Thanks, Bongo. I have often wondered, are these "unofficial" theme safe? I don't know the reasons why, but I tend to think that they may cause system unstability...

I believe that the majority of them are safe I have been using custom themes for at least 2 to 3 years with no problems.
