My info :
Lenovo 3000 N200
Windows 7, 32 bit
Tuneup Utilities 2010

I just ran "Tuneup Registry defrag" on my computer and after the analysis and results, I was asked to reboot my computer to perform the optimization.

My computer shuts down then reboots (I hear the fan running) but I'm stuck on a black screen!!!!!

I dont even get to the Windows logon screen, even worse, I dont even get the usual screen analysing my computer and RAM when I boot my computer... All I get is that damn black screen!!!

What I have tried so far :

- Shut down and reboot computer many times
- Press F8 to boot in safe mode
- Run Windows 7 reparation cd
- I also found "fixShell patch from PrevX" but damnit!!! I have to run the patch on my afected computer which means the black screen should not block me BEFORE running Windows.... AAAAAARG

None of these work! The computer doesn,t even "think". If the fan wasn't running I wouldn't even know my computer is on!

I dont have any restore file so that is not an option. Is there anything I can do to make my computer "skip" the registry optimization process so it can just run Windows normally?? Maybe a "bootable patch"? or anything else?

Any help or suggestion would be very appreciated!

Kim

Oh god it's even worse than I thought!

I cant even boot the Windows installation CD, the cd spins for couple of seconds, but the computer doesn,t provide what it takes to allow me to boot from it!

I'm sure it did but the computer wasnt trying to run anything!

But finally everything,s back to normal. This is soooo weird. I didn,t do anything. After I rebooted for the 384723948723 time, it suddently worked! Tuneup utilitie,s registry optimization ran normally then Windows started normaly. Just like nothing wrong happend before!

There's no way I can explain why it now works. I had already tried to keep the computer running while stuck on the black screen (thinking maybe it was working but I just couldn,t see anything), I also tried to keep it shut down for more than 5 minutes (thinking maybe I wasn,t waiting long enough before rebooting), but for no logical reason, it now works!

Just for the info... I will uninstall TuneUp Utilities and start using CCleanerfor the rest of my life!!!!
