Okay, so basically I get the black screen of death after "Start Windows" and before the login screen.

What I've tried and failed to work
- System Repair
- System Restore (no restore points apparently
- Memory Check (nothing)
- Ctr+Alt+Delete on black screen and Task Manager does not pop up.
- chkdsk - no problems

I seem to get the black screen in normal safe mode but in networking and command prompt I can actually log in. Is there anything I can do from here?

Note: I am having this problem with a laptop

Hi,

As you have already followed most of the Troubleshooting and as you are able to log in “Safe mode with Networking”, I would suggest you to try creating a New User account and then try to enter in this New User account in Normal Mode.

If the issue still persists, you can even try restoring system back to factory settings and then check the performance of the system. Ensure backing up your data before reinstalling Operating system or PC restore.

I can create another user account except I can't log onto it in Normal mode as I can't see the login screen. I guess I go with the system restore if I don't get any better answers.
