Black Screen of Death???

Upon the completion of the filling of my 500GB my system ceased to boot. The exact verbiage IS: "internal hard disk drive not found. to resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive. No bootable devices --strike f1 to boot, f2 for setup utility, f5 to run on board diag..." The system is an Inspiron 1720 Dell. Any other specs may be requested. Thank you for your help.

Yea I had my brother post this and did not relize he put it in the wrong thread but any way thank for the suggestion but I believe he wants to try to get his data off the hard drive before he does to much but from what I have read it seem as though I should first reset his bios and see if that helps at all and then after that then reseat the hdd and also check the sata connections and of course before any thing run seatool and check if that will tell us much but I really would like any more suggestions I have been reading all night long and am at wits end im sure
I can figure it out with some help! bthanks again!
