Hi,

I have installed Windows 7 on another hard drive which is partitioned to 40 gb using Acronis disk director. The installation went fine and as it went through the boot-ups, I had screen but on the final boot the screen is black apart from the os version in the bottom right hand corner. My cursor can be seen too.

Anyone have any ideas please? Is it a graphics driver issue?

Many thanks in advance.

Steve

Just turn on your other monitor. I spent a day yelling at the computer before figuring this out.

If your system is completely booting to the OS, restart the install. Seen this a couple times where the image wasent downloaded or burned correctly, and caused the above, among many other symptoms.

Try installing via USB, which is the best method, Second best is DVD-RW, and lastly DVD-R (which has a very low data retention rate).

Let us know if this happens on the second install.

Edit -
Before you go and 'start over' try performing an OS 'repair' by booting from the CD, and launching the Repair Windows option at the beginning.

Also, which build are you using? There were MANY problems with launching builds before 7100.x.xxxxx

Thanks,
Daniel
