black screen on start up after windows 7 update

windows did an update now every time i start up my computer i get a black screen i can get taskm working and i can get programs to work, thats how im asking this now. how do i fix this? also there is no task bar.

So you get logon? But no deskopt at all, all is black? Any text cursor? if so, is it blinking?

Run explorer.exe from task manager. Does desktop appear?

I tired to run explorer.exe but nothing happened, and I copyed explorer.exe of another working windows 7 computer and replaced the files but that didn't work either

Open regedit

Browse to key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
And browse to key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
What is the value of "shell" in both keys?

So you can run many applications... except explorer.exe? No error message at all?

Don't replace files files .. it can ruine everything!!

Open elevated command prompt http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/783-elevated-command-prompt.html

Now type:
sfc /scannow

post results
