Hello everyone, recently iv'e been getting black screens while playing:
Grand Theft Auto IV
Call of duty Modern Warfare 2
Call of duty Black ops
Minecraft

I have ran an overclocking test for 10 minutes and 0 errors or problems, my GPU tempature while playing games are 66-70 degrees.
I have updated the latest drivers, i have vaccum-cleaned inside the CPU, i have tried re-installing all of the games that were crashing.
My system specs are:
Proccesor: Intel(R)Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 2.50 gHz
RAM: 4,00 GB
Graphics card: NVIDIA Geforce GT220
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Monitor: LG Flatron W2253TQ

Also if its worth to tell, i mostly play on the resulotion 1280x720.
EDIT: This problem has not always been, it occured about 6-10 months after purchase.
I am pretty sure my fans are running well but i am not entierly sure.

You should never ever use a vacuum to clean your computer. It will ruin the electrical components on the motherboard and any other devices attached inside. Use a can of air or compressed air.

As for your error, what happens when the black screen appears? Can you still hear sound? Does the whole PC lock up?

First off, thanks for the fast reply.
As for the error, when it black screens it is entierly black for 2-3 seconds then a little blue box says "analog power saving mode" my sound loops after about 5-10 seconds.

Do you need to manually reset the computer after it goes to the black screen?

Have you checked the temps of your CPU?

What type of power supply do you have?

I need to manually reboot the computer by holding the shutdown button down for a couple of seconds.
My CPU temps dont seem to be overheating for what i know, here are the values:
GPU Temp. : 67 degrees
Fan speed: 100%
I dont know my power supply, i opened the box and checked but i didnt see clearly, all i know it is a Fujitsu, if that is what you need.

Can you upload whatever report was created? Can you also take a snip it of the error you're receiving.

First of all, there was no report at all, secondly my CPU is in swedish so that will make no sense to you.

EDIT: I went and bought some "MX-4 thermal compound" which is supposevly going to cool down my processor more. I will try this and give you heads up on how it works.

Im so sorry for this, but i saw that when i played games my GPU goes up to 103C, basiclly everything is overclocking while playing games, except CPU and HD0.
What do i have to do about this? Buy a new fan or cooler?

Are the temperatures posted in Post#7 with the system at idle?

Black Screens can be caused by many different things, we'll need more information in order to help you.

Read and follow the instructions in this link to post your system specs: Dont Know What Hardware You Have..??
You can also try: Speccy Free System information Utility, this is easy to use.

For your 'My System Specs', your CPU is "Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q8300 2.50 gHz"

What are your OCs on your graphics card?

That temp is high for your Graphics card, set it back to defaults until you find the problems or it could be damaged.

How did you apply the MX-4?

Check your CPU core temps in Speccy or use free temp monitor program Real Temp, while at idle and under stress or gaming.

I have not applied the MX-4 yet, first of all. Im waiting for my mate to come home, he knows this much better than me, dont wanna ruin anything in the computer. My temperature idle is 65-85C, to add, my fan speed is always at 95-100%. Anyways my system specs are:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.50gHz
Graphic card: NVIDIA Geforce GT220
RAM: 4,00GB
Motherboard: FUJITSU
Chipset:NVIDIA Geforce 7100
Southbridge:NVIDIA nForce 630i
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Power supply: 280W or 330W (im not quite sure of which because there were these two numbers and alot of text in chinese, but im guessing the 330W)
As for reseting the graphic card to default, how do i do that?
Thanks.

EDIT: Dont mind the question about reseting to default, i figured that out.

Those idle temps are very high, don't recommend doing anything but post here until the heat issue is fixed.

Intel specs for your: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300
The Tcase is 71.4°C add 5°C to that for max core temp, 76.4°C.

Check if your CPU cooler is loose, if you can easily turn it, then it's loose.
If it's a stock cooler it will have push pins, try to re-seat them.
Might be best to remove the cooler, clean the top of the CPU then re-apply the thermal paste and re-attach the cooler.
When your mate gets back.

Sure thing, will do that and post back on how things go.
And i wont play any more games until the problem is solved.
Do you think the problem is overheating?
