Black screen with a Blinking Underscore (Window 7)

Hello,
I have a problem, I had window 7 and turn my vista computer into it and when I did it to my other computer something went wrong.
When I reboot it and then the Acer sceen is finish with the Press Delete and F12 etc, it takes me to a screen that is all black with a blinking underscore.
No I did not make a recovery disk and yes my window 7 disk does not work when I put it in.
Please some one help me, tell me what to do but beware I'm dum when it comes to computer terms so I beg you make it simple as possable T.T.

Well I have had a blinking underscore problem with my vista at one point too. I removed all discs and USBs from my computer, rebooted it, and it went back to normal. Though at the time I wasn't installing windows 7 so your case may be a little different...
