thunder,
What's the chance that you can use Windows 7's System Restore feature?

Quite often when software is installed or updates are installed, then Win 7 stores off registry settings and other info so that it can restore your system if need be.

To access System Restore:
WIN key + Pause/Break key combo.
From the task lists on the left-hand side, choose "System Protection"
Click on the System Restore button.
Win 7 is going to guess a restore point. Win7's guess is usually wrong. SO-
Select the "Choose a different restore point" radio button
Click on NEXT button
Select the restore point you want and hit the NEXT button.
After you've got to the point where Win7 is restoring, then rebooting (be PATIENT),
if all goes well then after you've logged on there will be a message saying that the system restore was successful.

Either with software or settings or hardware failure (unlikely in this case), you have shot yourself in the foot.
