Black Screen with spinning loading

Hi All!
I have been able to view videos at weather.com and now if I try to view a story (video) I get a black window with the word "Loading" and a spinning symbol. I was trying to watch https://weather.com/news/trending/video/cargo-ship-struggles-in-high-winds. I re-installed Flash, checked that Java was enabled, and numerous other checks and cannot find any reason for this behavior! Using Chrome and it says it is up to date, system is windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Any ideas? Is it the site or me?

Same in other browsers. That site uses HTML5 player not flash.

It's blocked for me because of HOSTS file entry:

Suggest: Check your HOSTS file and any script blocking addons. If you have such addons disable them and try viewing the video.

Okay so I thought I had disabled HOSTS and all script blocking but still got this:

Then I remembered another software that I have installed that also blocks scripts on previously untrusted sites so I disabled that and - success:

However I get this warning. It's supposed to be a secure (https) connection but it isn't. I tend to avoid these sites.

When I go to that site it is being blocked because it is trying to track those that go to that site.

I really don't need a weather site tracking me. I know where I am. I'm home.
