I have a sony vaio and used it earlier today and shut it down. I just tried turning it on and now I am getting a black screen and can't even force it to shut down..need suggestions plzzzzzzzz

Can you access any sort of menu? If you can press F8 just before the Windows Splash Screen shows up you should be able to get to the "Repair my computer" prompt.
If you can't get there, then you're going to need a Startup Repair disk:
Download Windows 7 System Recovery Discs — The NeoSmart Files
Once into the Startup Repair disk, select System Restore and restore the system back to a date before the black screen issues started.
