Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite L305D - S5895 Series well a friend gave it
To me because didn't want to invest money fixing it.

The laptop turns on, I know that it's on because the green led power light is on.
The plug in charger green light is on.
The fan is spinning.
I can here the cd/dvd lens move when powered on.
But I can't see anything on screen totally black.

I tried the take out battery and plug hold power button for 39 seconds, no results.
I tried the opening and unpluging and pluging inner cables from screen, keyboard,
removed Hdd, checked each memory card, etc.

What am I missing ?
Will I need to replace the motherboard ?

Try connecting an external monitor, if it lights up the issue would likely be the backlight inverter of the laptop's display.

This is my work computer.
I have another laptop running Windows 7 64 bit.
Another PC running Windows 8 64 bit pro.
Total of 3
There is no other advise i can add other than what has been said hear.... try an external monitor, if you get a picture then chances are it will be the inverter which wont cos a great deal......if you cant get a picture then it would most likely point o a graphic/motherboard problem
Just remeber that on some laptops you may need to hit the function button to swap to the external monitor other wise you may end up with the same black screen and i faulty diagnosis

Oh, Hi, sorry i took long i didnt have an external screen tv now dat i checked
well not even in the external screen there is image still black screen.

Let me know of i have to buy a inverter board..

If there is no image or text even on the external screen and assuming you manually tried to force the screen source switch over then this may very well suggest something more problematic with laptop, this could be absolutely anything from a dead motherboard, corrupt Bios or a dead graphics chip in which case would be non cost affective to repair.

Dont go on my word though as someone else here may know something i dont.

In the mean time you could try both of the following as seen when googling:
Try a power drain !!
take the battery out n disconnect from the external power .
Hold on to the power button for 30 sec .
Try connect to external power source(AC adapter) without battery.
Later u can put the battery back and use as usual.

replace Cmos Battery: this can be very time consuming and awkward dependant on the battery placement, check for tutorials on the web before proceeding so you are sure to dismantle everything in the correct manor to avoid unwanted damage
