blackscreen at boot

Hi all,this is my first post....When I boot I get a black screen that asks me..two options.. windows 7...or advanced boot options..This option tells me to boot from the OS disk and perform a repair or memory diagnostic tool....I have done both...Repair tells me windows cannot fix this problem..Memory is OK...I done a hijack this and the log should be attached?..Thank you all.
PS:When I press the windows 7 option it boots with no problem......I just want to fix it right..Thanks again

check your boot.ini file for 2ndary OS lines. through msconfig, you should be able to not only remove any faulty line that is prompting this... OR you can disable the advanced boot option
