Hey people,

My computer recently got infected by a virus, it made most of my folders invisible so i did a little research on how to un hide those folders. i went on to appearance personalization settings > Folder options > the view tab and clicked the show hidden files and folders option and that made made all of my folders etc reappear again.

I located the virus from my drive and deleted it manually after closing it down using the task manager anyways now there are no viruses in the computer and everything's working fine except my backgrounds solid black.

Any help will be appreciated thank you.

It doesn't sound like you got totally rid of the virus. What was the name of it?
Can you get anything on your desktop?

Do you have antivirus installed? If so, I would suggest running it. If not, I'd pick up some (my personal suggestion is Microsoft Security Essentials) immediately.

Also, if you change your wallpaper to whatever it was previously, does it stay that way?

Most of the time, ending the process in the task manager and then “deleting” the virus manually doesn’t completely remove the virus.
Give a program like Malwarebytes a go to completely remove the virus.
