Blocking a partition

Hi, im sorry i have no idea where to post this so hopefully it fits here

i have 2 partions on my PC at home, I install things I trust on one and things i dont on the other.

At the moment i install something go to my firewall (ESET Security i think it is) and block that application from connecting to the internet.

I was wondering if there was a way to just completely block the Partition from the net?

This is another great spot for virtualization. You could create a VM of whatever OS you have another license for, and do all of your software installs in there until you know if a program is trustworthy or not. I do this for testing a lot of little system utilities, or comparing free AV software packages, things of that nature. If something destroys my VM, then I only need to restore a file to start over, all the while keeping my host system untouched.

There's no way to block a partition from accessing the internet. Your host-based firewall can only block based on program or port so you'll have to do it that way if you're installing all to a separate partition.

A VM with ethernet disabled would be a good option.
