The Blu-ray player in my Sony All-in-One will not play an Avatar Blu-ray CD. I get an error message saying "Player reqires an up date to play this disc" I checked Optiarc BD-ROM BC-5500S4 firmware, says it's the latest, no need to update. Check on hardware, says it is operating OK. Tried Avatar BD in another BD player and it worked OK. My player will play music and regular DVD's OK. Is there a fix?

It sounds like the software that needs an update, check the support site for your system and look for any software updates for your system. Or, in the player itself, look through the options to see if there's an update option, or otherwise go to the player website. By player I mean the software program you're using to play video, not the BD drive itself.
