Hello guys,

I have just rebuilt my comp from the motherboard up...It is pretty much a brand new machine..

I am running:

gigabyte 880GA-UD3H motherboard

AMD PhenomII X6 1090T 3.2 Ghz

ATI Radeon HD5770 1GB GDDR5 graphics card

Western Digital 250GB SATA (unknown cache) this is the main drive local disk C:
Western Digital 1TB SATA 64MB HDD (drive formatted to drive E:)

A C Bell 510 watt power unit

Coolermaster tower and no extra cooling (original single fan)

Windows 7 64bit Home Premium...off the disc.

I am getting pretty random bluescreens,then it reboots again no problem....There has been some error reporting and minidump thingo's...

I would appreciate any help that you guys can offer...

If crashes still happen after you follow the suggested fixes, attach your most recent .dmp's then for further analysis - from C:\Windows\Minidump. We'll try to help.

I have the Gigabyte 870A-UD3 mobo and am experiencing similar problems with the BSOD. Is this a common problem with Gigabyte mobo's?

Well guys I turned the thing on this morning and have had multiple crashes...

A were in pretty quick succession too...I am beginning to think this computer doesnt like being woken up.

I have saved the .dmp files from today and just have to figure oue how to attach them before we crash again...

That might work...

Another post to bump and to go through my issue, which has not cleared up.

I have been doing a lot of reading on other forums and such about similar things happening to many other people on many different makes of computer. What they all have in common is an ATI graphics card and windows 7.

I am thinking very seriously of going back to nvidea as there doesn't seem to be an issue there and the support from the company at least appears to exist...

Shame really.

Any thoughts from the brains here?

- Boot into safe mode with networking
- Uninstall the ATI drivers including Catalyst Control Center
- Use driver sweeper to remove leftover ATI display driver files Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
- Install the latest drivershttp://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx
- Reboot into normal mode

If the above does not work test your RAM

Ok...So I did all that yesterday. Not the memtest, but I have it ready to go.

Today, when I turned the beast on I got a couple of freezes, then an message pops up saying that my grahpics card had stopped working and that it had resolved the issue itself...

That, to me is a marked improvement. I would usually be seeing bluescreens by now.

I chacked in the action centre and sent away a report to windows, living in hope that something is seen by someone...then noticed that a windows update for MSE was happening throughout it all...

After that I logged onto a forum which has lots of pretty damn pictres and animations all over the place...that caused another freeze, this time the vertical lines thing happened (which is hard on the eyes let me say).That required a reboot.

Since then nothing, not even a little twich...

Pretty damn good for this computer I reckon..

So, thank you guys I really appreciate the help.

This is a sign of overheating or defective GPU

Bloody thing has been a menace ever since I put it in to be honest...

I am definately going to rip it out and get an Nvidea card as a replacement...

I actually like the card when it works it is awesome,easy to manage and all that, but I think it is fighting with the OS all the time...

Decision made, back to Nvidea....now just gotta wait for the bloody shops to be open to go get one...
