Blue screen ACPI error after installing a New Graphics Card plz HELP

I have a Intel DG31PR Motherboard, and with a new Galaxy GeForce GT520 w/2048mb just installed into it I get the below mentioned error... but with out the card installed and using onboard video.. I get no error at all and it boots up just fine...

Can anyone help me with this error or know how to correct it.. please help...

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

What are the ACPI settings under Power in BIOS setup?

Try booting into Safe Mode
to update the video card driver to the latest for Win7.

Work with Ken on getting your minidump file analyzed as it can point to the exact cause.

First I wanna say Ty for your time and help .. second I want you to know on the system at question after I got the error I pulled the graphics card so I can get into my system just fine with out in installed.

I did go to where you asked me to and the file was empty, so I went and checked the file like you described and it was not active.. so I did as you told me to do and that's where I sit right now, Also should make you aware not sure if matters or not but the hard drive we are dealing with is a brand new hard drive and this was a fresh install of windows onto it the day previous.

please let me know what i can do if anything to help you help me to resolve this issue.. Do you want me to re-install the card and run it so it will get you the info you are needing ??

HI and ty for help .. the settings in the bios are at s1 tried s3 also with no change Also there is a Bios update available and I tried doing the .exe one but when i opened it I got an error message saying there was either a programming or internal error and it could not continue. Did not try the other two methods of loading it as of yet.

As for safe mode with the card loaded on my system it would not boot and got the same error. Any other ideas that you might help please let me know and I will be glad
to try or supply any info that may help you help me resolve this issue.. Thanks

Hello I have done to my knowledge what was requested for me to do so you guts might be able to examine and see why my pc wont boot with new graphics card installed reference to my origal post

all you need to do is update your bios once it is updated you should be fine any other questions let me know

Hi Steve,

I have tried downloading the latest BIOS as proposed in the other thread. (the self installing one) But when updating I got a internal system error message and the update did not go through. I believe you experienced that same problem too initially.

Would you be so good to teach me what you did to finally get your BIOS updated and got your problems solved without getting too technical? I'm not very tech savvy.

Made some progress and have managed to arrived at the C prompt where I am suppose to type in "IFLASH2/PF PR0071 BIO"

Unfortunately instead of commencing the update, my system rebooted to Windows instead.

Did you experience the same thing and of you did, can you please advise me as to what you did to correct it?
