Hello,
I have a fairly new computer but after about 20 days it got a blue screen and now the blue screen is coming up almost every day. It doesn't give me any information.

I tried to download Windgb to look at the files but I can't get that to work either and am hoping someone can read the minidump files and tell me what's going on.

Thanks very much in advance.

Hello LA11, welcome to SF!

You have problems with your drivers for your graphical card. Please renew:

De-install Catalyst center fully and go to Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD
to install the driver for your card ONLY. Do NOT install Catalyst center.

Regretfully, you only posted dumps and not the rest of :
http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

But from what I can see in there, your drivers seem up to date even though there are a couple of drivers that should be updated through Windows update that don't seem to have a time stamp in your latest dump. Please confirm that you have finished all Windows updates, manually if needed.

I am a bit of a newby with all this

Please, feel free to explain everything like I am a third grader. I am good at following explicit directions. I apologize for not getting you all the info in the beginning, as I originally posted in the wrong place a some nice moderator put me in this thread.

I am attaching the other files you may need to help me, ie. my system specs etc.

I have updated the drivers via windows update and only the net 4 needed a security fix.

I located the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 to download , I also see where it says to deinstall but I was afraid to as I fear then I won't be able to see the screen??.

I downloaded the individual downloads package and ran the exe and used custom install but cancelled it when it showed the final screen ( I am including a pic in the zip file). So nothing is changed yet.

Could you explain step by step exactly what I need to do and confirm if I have the right download?

Thanks so much for your time and attention.

LA11, that's a lot of questions in there...:D

I'll try to answer them one by one:

1. If you de-install your graphics driver, in your case the ATI Display driver, W7 will revert to a simple standard driver. Your screen will be visible but in a lower resolution. Once a new driver for your card is installed, all settings can be adjusted to your liking again.

2. The Smartdisk message... is not a message but a simple SQL query that would result in a error message IF there was a failure. There was not.

3. Healthreport is ok. No big problem there. The mention of a missing AV when you have one running is a common error in the report.

5. Your latest dump still points to your graphics driver so that is the first next step. Actually, AMD/ATI have a pretty good help for that: Watch the videos at the bottom of this page:AMD.com | Support & Downloads and follow that... it leads you through the process step by step.

I just wanted to thank you for all your help. I finally got the time and courage to change my drivers. It was actually quite easy after watching the videos you suggested.

It went very well and hopefully there will be no more blue screens. What a relief.

Thanks again!!!
