Ran sfc /scannow it came back with the following message: Windows resource protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log


I tried to open C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log but it said "access denied"

I don't really know what to do.


I have also done a system restore and now my synaptics does not work either.

Drag cbs.log to the desktop and open it there. Or just upload it to us.

In any case if sfc found problems it cant fix you are going to have to do a repair install. DO you have the win 7 dvd?

I don't have the win 7 disk, with me, it is back at home 2000 miles away.

where do I drag cbs.log from?

I opened up windows explorer and tried, but it keeps saying that access is denied. So I am not sure where to 'drag' it from.

since running the sfr /scannow my computer will freeze and the screen scrambles. I am thinking that it is a problem with the hard drive but I am not sure.

since running the sfc /scannow, i am continuing to get the BSOD, sometimes it just says it needs to shut down, and sometimes it only says "IRQL_not_less_or_equal"

It is too large to attach and it won't let me copy and paste, keeps timing out. how would you like for me to get a copy of the cbs.log for you to evaluate to you?

I keep running that sfc /scannow and it says that the integrity is fine, and chkdsk sometimes comes back and says that the bitmap is incorrect.
