I also tried doing a master reset on my laptop to see if that would work but as soon as i set it back up again i had a bluescreen error :(

It could either be the BIOS or a fault in the hardware itself

Then most probably its a BIOS issue, update to the latest version
Select a product or category from the list below Compaq Presario CQ61 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

Did this laptop originally come with Windows7 or was an upgrade install, I've a lot of drivers dated 2007-2008, these can also be a cause

Go to the device manager and locate the devices listed in post 6, get their model number and go the specific manufacturer's website then update the drivers

If even these don't work you should RMA the laptop if it is still under warranty

Most of these drivers were RAID controllers, they are usually located in the 'IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers' or 'System Devices'

System Devices has none of those drivers you listed :s

In the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers are:

ATA Controller 0
ATA Controller 1
Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controllers

Nothing else :s
