with a memtest you need to run at least 5 passes which normally takes around 7hrs ;)

at a quick glance I see you have a old version of ASUS probe installed dated 2007 which is known to cause bluescreen errors in windows 7 , so please go to the asus website and get the latest version or completely remove it ?

I see your running AVG8 and if your bluescreens continue you could try replacing with MSE for debugging purposes ?

I have decided to get rid of AVG as it does seem to crash as soon as avg loads up, but as for pc probe, i disabled this from starting up so it should not be the problem but I updated it any way. I will do the memtest tonight and share my results tomorrow, thank you for the replys.

Sambo, disabling a program does not necessarily prevent the drivers from loading. You can navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers, find that driver and rename it from .sys to .bak. Reboot and it will not be loaded.

Renamed AsIO.sys to .bak still got BSOD, I am on the verge of reinstalling windows and seeing if that helps but because i got my copy of windows through my university I do not know if my serial key will still work. I got my copy of windows through the MSDNAA, so i do not know if that serial will still work, if i reinstall windows will it ask for the serial again?

good job renaming the file and for your install choices have a look at the facts section of the usa MSDNAA website ?

you have been on the forum for three days as far as i can see so maybe we need some .dmp file uploads to explore more possibilities before you go down the route of re-installation or you may just be returning to the same problems ;)

please can you download and run prime95 and let us know the results ?

please can you run the memtest recommended for at least 5 passes which will likely be overnight and let us know how it goes ?

If your setup is the same as your room mates can you try a ram swop for debugging purposes ?

I do however suspect this problem may be a driver but we need to first eliminate hardware faults :)
